All the Wild Wonders is an amazing poetry book that brings attention to environmental issues This book would be best for 3 4th grade and gives a variety of topics to discuss in the classroom This is a WOW book due to how closely related it can be to science content It is a fun and easy way to begin discussions about our own impact on the earth and the short and long term effects our actions will have on our planet For reading I would use this in a classroom lesson for imagery and have my students write their own poem utilizing descriptive vocabulary to set up a scene that the reader can vividly imagine as they read For science I would use this as a read aloud before entering a unit on environmental issues and continue to refer back to it when moving on to different topics I definitely picture utilizing poetry in a light hearted way in the classroom since sometimes it can be confusing for students to understand I think linking it to another topic like environmental issues might make it easier since there is a clear focus on what the poems are about Overall a great read and I am very excited to integrate it in my future classroom
